Music News!

Billy Doyle Con't.

In a previous post I posted some tracks from a up and coming London based artist Billy Doyle; at that time had little to no information about this unknown Post Dubstep / Future Garage artist hailing from the Motherland.

So I went about getting some information..........

I contacted Mr Doyle by email last week and got the scoop. He is a 17 year old London college student that's been making tracks for the last year; and heavy into the Dubstep since 2006 (same as me funny enough) which means he knows the good from the bad "Lets have no more of the Dub and Rape please"!

You can hear from his music, influences from rave culture; break beat; drum and bass; and to a lesser extent jungle while mixing in new (or old depending on how you look at it) minimalist Dubstep and garage elements. This could be explained from the the fact he reported that he is in fact also a DJ and spins tracks old school on the one and twos ranging from Gill Scott-Heron to Koreless.

He has definitely hit a nerve in my head having a similar or complementary style to what I like and the direction I think I would like to move into; I shall be keeping my eye on his soundcloud for up and coming release's in the next couple of months (and so should you!).

Hecq.

A very good friend of mine Mr Grendel Cakes (James Farrel) put me onto this Hecq new album Avenger. This is Bro-step reinvented, get your teeth into the heavy and yet in a way subdued filth that is Hecq. He is on a similar tip to Dead Fader but a darn sight more musical in his heavy industrial bass stylings! For all you children of the filth that live and breath Bro-step (Dub and Rape) this will be like ethereal lounge room music to you; but if your listening to Bro-step then the point mat be lost on you anyway. Not to say having a good old skank to the heavy stuff isn't good for you from time to time but lets at least keep it music and not a DJ tool, but I digress (into hatred for how dubstep has been corrupted, not by Hecq but by the Skrillex's of this world "Do you realise the hair above your ear is gone?!").

This is amazing and you should love it for what it is.......
